INARESTO ng mga opisyal ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), ang isang negosyanteng South Korean na wanted ng mga awtoridad sa Seoul dahil sa economic crimes.

Sinabi ni Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco, si Ahn Youngyong, 54, ay nasabat sa NAIA Terminal 1 habang ay papasakay sa Philippine Airlines biyaheng Shanghai, China.

“He was not allowed to leave and was instead arrested after his name prompted a hit in our derogatory check system indicating that he is a wanted fugitive in his country,” ayon kay Tansingco.

Batay sa datos, inilagay si Ahn sa BI watchlist dahil sa pagiging undesirable aliens dahil sa kasong kriminal na isinampa sa kanya sa Korea.

Ang Korean embassy sa Manila ay inimpormahan ang BI hinggil sa warrant of arrest na inisyu ng Seoul Eastern District Court laban kay Ahn dahil sa paglabag sa ‘prohibition on marketing disturbances’.

“Market disturbance or disruption refers to any significant change or disturbance in an industry or market. As a result, markets cease to function in a regular manner, typically characterized by rapid and large market declines,” paliwanag ng BI.

Ayon sa mga awtoridad ng Korean, sa pagitan ng Pebrero at Setyembre 2018, nagpakalat si Ahn ng maling impormasyon sa capital investment, joint development at sales of immune-anti cancer drugs, completion of technology transfer, sa isang US bio-company.

Ang kanyang ginawa ay nagpapataas sa presyo ng mga gamot sa Korean stock market at nagdulot ng ‘di patas na tubo sa mga manufacturer ng mahigit 63.1 billion won, o halos US$44 million. (JOCELYN DOMENDEN)
