HINDI paliligtasin ni Senador Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson sa pagsisiyasat hinggil operasyon ng droga sa bansa ang mga kulungan na sakop ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

Ito ay makaraang aminin ni Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino na mayroon ding operasyon ng droga na nagaganap sa mga kulungang saklaw ng BJMP.

“It’s a revelation…I am not surprised at all that even up to now, it’s still happening, may drug operations being directed from inside,” saad ni Lacson.

“Maski BJMP meron din. And we want to find out from him. Maybe in an executive session we can find out the specifics, the particulars,” dagdag pa ng senador.

“Ang BuCor issue involves other, except BJMP because these are city and provincial jails not under the jurisdiction of BuCor. Pag sabing BuCor kasama ang Davao, Palawan, even women’s correctional kasama iyan,” paliwanag pa ni Lacson.

Iginiit ni Lacson na kailangang mabawi ng gobyerno ang full control sa mga kulungan mula sa mga anya’y mga high profile inmates na namamayani ngayon.

“Something is very wrong especially sa penology system natin, when drug lords are the ones lording it over instead of the other way around. Parang nagpapaandar na ng kulungan natin ang mga preso at BuCor officials, penitentiary officials are at the mercy of the convicts. Government should retake full control of the penitentiary,” diin nito
