P9-B DROGA WINASAK NG PDEA

UMABOT sa P9,102,467,185 halaga ng ilegal na droga ang winasak ng mga tauhan ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency kahapon sa Integrated Waste Management, Inc. (IWMI) sa Trece Martires City sa lalawigan ng Cavite.

Ayon sa PDEA, kabilang sa sinira ang 2,435,619 gramo ng dangerous drugs na ebidensyang nakalap mula sa iba’t ibang anti-drug operation ng PDEA, Philippine National Police (PNP), NBI, at iba pang counterpart law enforcement and military units, na hindi na kailangan sa korte.

“The pieces of drug evidence were destroyed through thermal decomposition or thermolysis. Exposed to temperatures of over 1,000 degrees centigrade, all dangerous drugs were completely decomposed or broken down, and are impossible to reconstitute,” pahayag ng PDEA.

Karamihan sa sinunog na ilegal na droga ay methamphetamine hydrochloride o shabu na tumitimbang ng 1,293,934.2149 grams, 720,898.6564 grams ng marijuana, at 359,752.1449 grams ng ephedrine.

Kabilang sa mga sinunog na droga ang 1.2 toneladang shabu na nasabat sa April 15 checkpoint operation sa Barangay Pinagkrusan, Alitagtag, Batangas.

“PDEA continues to practice the swift destruction of all confiscated drug evidence as soon as permitted by the courts,” pahayag ni Director Derrick Carreon, hepe ng PDEA Public Information Office.

Sumaksi sa PDEA destruction activity ang ilang kinatawan mula sa Department of Justice (DOJ); Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG); local officials ng Barangay Aguado, Trece Martires City; kinatawan mula sa Philippine National Police (PNP) at iba pang law enforcement agencies; non-government organizations (NGOs); at media partners.
