TINAWAG ni Senador Panfilo “Ping” Lacson na stupid idea ang regulasyon ng Department of Health (DOH) na nagbabawal sa mga senior citizen na lumabas ng kanilang mga tahanan kahit maging maluwag na ang pinaiiral na community quarantine.

Ayon kay Lacson, dapat magpa-eksamin muna ng kanilang utak kay National Center for Mental Health chief administrative officer Dra. Clarita Avila ang ilang mga opisyal ng DOH bago magpalabas ng mga regulasyon.

Sinabi ni Lacson na marami sa mga senior citizen ang mas malusog pa at may malakas na immune system kumpara sa mga bata.

“To indiscriminately prohibit them from going out of their homes is not only arbitrary; it is downright stupid,” saad nito.

“Just to give credence to my argument – ang ibang male Senate staff ko nga na di hamak na mas bata kesa sa akin, hindi makasabay sa akin pag gumagamit ako ng stairs paakyat sa 6th floor office ko. Yung iba naman, laging may sipon at laging uubo-ubo, samantalang ako, laging malakas ang immune system,” paliwanag ng senador.

Hindi rin sang-ayon sina Senador Ralph Recto at Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon sa regulasyon.

“Most of our political and business leaders are seniors. They should be allowed to work and be mobile,” saad ni Recto.

“If that rule is enforced, Senate President (Tito) Sotto, Sens (Dick) Gordon, Lacson, (Lito) Lapid and myself cannot attend the senate sessions starting May 4.

And, PRRD (Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte), (Executive Secretary Salvador) Medialdea, (Finance Secretary Sonny) Dominguez, among others, should not leave their respective residences. Absurd?
