KINUWESTYON ni Senador Panfilo Lacson ang kabalintunaan ng Makabayan Bloc kung bakit patuloy umanong kinukunsinte nito ang New People’s Army (NPA) na gustong pabagsakin ang gobyerno nagpapasuweldo sa kanila.
“Senate red-tagging inquiry: Will somebody help explain the logic of some members of Congress publicly condoning the New People’s Army that has been waging a protracted armed guerrilla warfare against the same government that employs them?” ayon kay Lacson sa kanyang post sa Twitter.
“I would have expected a ‘sympathy for their cause but not their methods’ response from the Makabayan bloc who attended the second red-tagging hearing yesterday. That would have been understandable and completely acceptable as a response to my question about the NPA,” dagdag niya.
Sa ginanap na pagdinig ng Senado hinggil sa red-tagging nitong Martes, tinanong ni Lacson si former Rep. Teodoro Casiño kung ikokonsidera nitong kaaway ang NPA, at sumagot si Casino na hindi.
Ayon kay Lacson, hindi nya mapagtugma ang sagot ng dating mambabatas dahil kumukuha siya ng sahod mula sa gobyerno pero ayaw kondenahin ang kalupitan ng NPA at armadong pakikibaka nito.
“We are not talking of protest rallies. This is different. This is an armed struggle where NPAs kill policemen, soldiers and civilians, and even former members who wanted to return to mainstream society,” ayon kay Lacson.
“You belong to government. The government is your employer. You are a member of the same government the NPAs are planning to overthrow through armed struggle,” dagdag ng senador.
Samantala, pinag-aaralan ng Senate defense committee na pinamumunuan ni Lacson ang posibilidad na imbitahan si Communist Party of the Philippines founding chairman Jose Ma. Sison na lumaghok sa susunod na pagdinig hinggil sa red-tagging. (ESTONG REYES)
