HINIKAYAT ni dating Senador Rodolfo Biazon si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Kongreso na kaagad pulungin ang National Security Council (NSC) upang pag-usapan ang lumalalang sitwasyon sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) partikular ang walang humpay na pangangamkam ng isla ng China.

Sa virtual media interview, sinabi ni Biazon na kailangan nang magpulong ang NSC upang makalikha ng malinaw at nagkakaisang posisyon ang Pilipinas sa WPS dahil lubhang maaapektuhan nito hindi lamang ang kasalukuyan, kundi ang mga susunod na henerasyon.

“Therefore, I am worried about the turn of events, and I came here to campaign for the convening of the national security council because the national security council can provide us, the Filipino people, everybody including policy makers, national program implementers and our people a very clear projection of a clear, united national position on this (WPS issue),” aniya.

Sinabi ni Biazon na kailangan nang magpulong ang NSC dahil “sa ngayon, lahat ay nalilito at lubha itong mapanganib.”

“We are not only confusing ourselves, we are also confusing potential allies, in our pursuit of our national interest in the area (WPS),” aniya.

“We are confusing our policy maker and program implementers, we are also confusing our adversaries meaning China and they are confused that they might found a dangerous move and thinking and we have given up the pursuit of our interest in South China,” dagdag ng dating chief of staff ng AFP.

Ayon kay Biazon na kailangan itaguyod natin ang malinaw at nagkakaisang pambansang posisyon sa lahat ng pangunahing sektor.

” Who are these vial sectors,one the people of the Philippines including our program implementors and policy makers, including our potential friends and allies including probably China itself so that they would not make a confused adversarial move against the interest of the Philippines in the area,”giit niya.

Dahil dito, ipinanawagan din ni Biazon sa Kongreso na magpasa ng isang joint resolution na humihiling sa pagpupulong ng NSC, kung ayaw ng Executive Department na gawin ito.

“That is why I think, we have, the head of the legislatures have to call for the convening of the national security council to provide us a clear united position in the South China Sea,” ayon kay Biazon.

“We should use the Constitutional provision by passing a resolution by both Houses of Congress calling for the convening of the national security council,” dagdag niya.

Nagpahayag ng pagkabahala si Biazon nang lumutang ang dalawang dating mambabatas na sina former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile at dating Senator Antonio Trillanes IV na nagpahayag ng kani-kanilang posisyon sa WPS issue.

“Kasi marami nang pumapasok na nagbigay ng kanilang posisyon, former senators kaya lalong kailangan natin yung statement ng united and clear position of the Philippine government for that matter for the resolution of these,” paliwanag niya. (ESTONG REYES)
