Returning to his roots at Koronadal National Comprehensive High School in South Cotabato, Meralco Chief Operating Officer and One Meralco Foundation Trustee Engr. Ronnie Aperocho led the turnover of 100 solar streetlights to enhance campus safety and security for 11,879 students and 422 teachers.
For Sir Ronnie, going back to NCHS is both a meaningful homecoming and a reaffirmation of a shared mission. “On behalf of the One Meralco Foundation and the Meralco group, it is our privilege to share this gift of light with the Koronadal National Comprehensive High School. We believe that access to light goes beyond illumination—it goes beyond brightening the grounds of this campus to creating a safer environment, providing greater security for students and teachers, and building a more conducive community for learning.”
“As we switch on these lights tonight, may this symbolize not only brighter pathways but also brighter opportunities and a brighter future for everyone. Because in Meralco, when we bring light to communities, we also bring hope to lives,” he said, emphasizing the impact of sustainable energy.
Sir Ronnie, accompanied by OMF President Jeffrey O Tarayao, turned over the donation to Fe Lita Yparraguirre, School Principal and Sanny Pama, Assistant Principal for Operations, in the presence of John Gregory Jabido, Education Program Supervisor and Mercy Aguillion, Senior Education Program Specialist of Schools Division Office of Koronadal City representing Schools Division Superintendent Ruth Estacio.
His dedication to uplifting communities through engineering excellence reflects the same commitment that earned him recognition as an Honorary Fellow of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO) at the 44th AFEO Conference in Bandung, Indonesia on October 22, 2026.
Our big congratulations, and gratitude to Sir Ronnie for continuing to inspire the next generation of Filipino engineers and leaders! #SpreadTheLight Deped RXII Koronadal KNCHS Junior High School, DepEd RXII Koronadal National Comprehensive High School – SHS
