LABIS ang pasasalamat ng mga ‘mistah’ o kaklase ng napaslang na dating senior official ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) na si Wesley Barayuga, sa liderato ng Kongreso, partikular sa Quad Committee, dahil posibleng makamit na nila ang hustisya matapos ang mahigit apat na taon.

Sa isang pahayag ng mga miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Matikas Class 1983, nagpaabot sila ng labis na pasasalamat kay House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez at sa Quad Committee, sa isinagawa nitong imbestigasyon na tila nagbibigay-linaw sa pagkamatay ni Barayuga.

“The Philippine Military Academy Matikas Class of 1983 extends our deep gratitude and appreciation to the honorable members of the QUAD Committee of the House of Representatives, Republic of the Philippines, for the inquiry that finally identified the alleged suspects in the assassination of our dear mistah Wesley Barayuga,” bahagi pa ng pahayag ng mga kaklase ni Barayuga.
Anito pa, “Your persistent efforts and incisive line of questioning have given light and hope for the successful resolution of Wesley’s tragic assassination 4 years ago.”

Nagpahayag din ng pag-asa ang Matikas Class na tuluyan nang makakamit ng pamilya ni Barayuga ang hustisya dahil sa pagkabunyag ng mga personalidad na sangkot sa pagkamatay nito.”And in behalf of the family of our dear mistah, we also convey their profound gratitude for the identification of the suspected assailants. It may not bring our dear Wesley back but it is reassuring that there are people in government who are doing their best to bring the perpetrators to justice,” anang grupo.

“Such service and commitment to deliver justice and righteous acts as you do today gives us confidence that our nation is indeed represented by wise, courageous and honorable men,” sinabi pa ng grupo.

Sa kanyang panig, nagpaabot naman si Speaker Romualdez ng pasasalamat sa Matikas Class dahil sa tiwalang ipinagkaloob sa kanilang Quad Committees. “I would like to thank the PMA Matikas Class of 1983 for the trust and confidence they have given to our Quad Committees in looking for justice for their mistah that was assassinated in 2019,” aniya. “Rest assured our quad members will continue to look for the truth amid the bashing and hate messages from a certain sector.”

Matatandaan na kamakailan ay lumutang ang dating narcotics agent na si Police Lt. Col. Santie Mendoza at umamin na siya ang inatasan ni dating PCSO general manager Royina Garma at National Police Commissioner Edilberto Leonardo para paslangin si Barayuga kapalit ng P300,000 noong kasagsagan ng pandemya noong 2019.

Ani Mendoza sa Quad Comm, ang utos ni Garma na patayin si Barayuga ay ipinadaan kay Leonardo.

Si Mendoza na dating miyembro ng Drug Enforcement Group ng PNP, ay umamin na tinawagan siya ni Leonardo para sa isang “special operation” laban kay Barayuga na noon ay pinagbintangan na “high-value” target sa drug war ni dating Pangulong Duterte.
