FAKE NEWS! Ito ang tahasang pahayag ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) kaugnay sa pagkalat ng disinformation hinggil sa umano’y recruitment ng Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) members sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP).

Kasabay nito, mariing kinondena ni OPAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. ang nasabing ikinakalat na disinformation na inihayag ni Sharief Edjal Alimuddin, sinasabing “Governor General” ng MNLF, kaugnay sa pag-recruit sa dating MNLF sa militar.

“The OPAPRU vehemently denies the spread of false information, which causes anxiety and fear among the people of Zamboanga City and, most of all, is detrimental to the 1996 Final Peace Agreement, the historic peace deal signed by the [government] and MNLF,” pahayag ni Galvez.

Inihayag din umano ni Alimuddin sa isang press conference sa Cabatangan, Zamboanga City, na nire-recruit ang dating MNLF members sa AFP.

Paglilinaw ng kalihim, walang umiiral na special recruitment process o reintegration para sa MNLF members na nais pumasok sa PNP at sa AFP.

“If they want to join the PNP or AFP, they all have to undergo the regular recruitment process based on well-established criteria and qualifications,” pahayag ng opisyal.

Dahil dito inihayag ng pamunuan ng OPAPRU na nakipag-ugnayan na ang ahensiya sa MNLF, sa ilalim ng liderato ni chair Nur Misuari, upang linawin ang isyu.

Naglabas din ng pahayag ang MNLF na nagdedeklarang hindi nito awtorisado si Alimuddin na mag-organisa ng ganitong uri ng pagtitipon. Dumistansya ito sa mga indibidwal na gumagawa ng mga bagay sa labas sa chain of command nito. (JESSE KABEL RUIZ)
