HINIKAYAT ng Malakanyang ang mga eksperto ng University of the Philippines na iwasan ang pagsasahimpapawid ng kanilang mga suhestiyon hinggil sa pandemic lockdowns at sa halip ay iparating ang mga ito “privately” sa mga awtoridad.

Ang OCTA Research team ay kinabibilangan ng mga eksperto mula sa University of the Philippines at University of Santo Tomas na mayroong regular projections sa coronavirus infections sa bansa at mayroong “1 or 2 epidemiologists which is not the same number of experts” na nakikipag-ugnayan sa Inter-Agency Task Force na nangunguna sa pagtugon sa pandemya.

“I wish they would refrain from making these recommendations publicly. They can probably endorse or course their recommendations privately to the IATF, nang hindi naman po napapangunahan, highlighting the fact that classifications are normally announced by no less than the President himself,” ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

“If the IATF itself does not make public its recommendations to the President, sana the OCTA team— and this is really an appeal para hindi nagkakagulo — can also course their recommendations to the IATF privately,” dagdag na pahayag ni Sec. Roque.

Tugon ito ni Sec. Roque sa rekomendasyon kamakailan ng OCTA group na ilagay ang bahagi ng Bauan, Batangas; Calbayog, Western Samar, at General Trias, Cavite sa ilalim ng stricter lockdowns.

Samantala, pinayagan naman ang mga provincial governor na magdesisyon sa lockdowns sa kani-kanilang bayan kasama ang kanilang regional IATFs. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
