KASABAY ng pagdiriwang ng kanilang ika-136 anibersaryo, binigyang pagkilala ng Bureau of Customs-Port of Cebu (BOC-Cebu) ang ambag ng 10 pribadong kumpanyang nagbigay-daan para mahagip ng naturang distrito ang itinakdang buwang collection target.

Kabilang sa mga pinarangalan ang Filoil Logistics Corp., Seaoil Philippines Inc., Ecossential Foods Corp., Therma Visayas Inc., Steelasia Manufacturing Corp., AD Gothong Manufacturing, Kepco SPC Power Corp., National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, Joyland Industries Corp., at ang Cebu Energy Development Corp.

Bukod sa mga pribadong kumpanyang itinanghal bilang top importers, kinilala rin ang ambag ng mga katuwang na ahensya ng pamahalaan – Cebu Port Authority, Oriental Port and Allied Services Corp., Chamber of Customs Brokers Inc.-Cebu chapter, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coast Guard District-Central Visayas, Naval Forces Central, Philippine Drug Enforcement-Central Visayas, Plant Quarantine Service-Region 7 at ang National Meat Inspection Service-7.

Sa kanyang talumpati, ibinida ni BOC-Cebu District Collector Charlito Martin Mendoza ang pagsipa ng koleksyon ng kanyang nasasakupang distrito. Sa kanyang inilahad na datos, umabot na sa P2.9 bilyon ang nalikom na “collection surplus” ng BOC-Cebu – higit pa sa P1.4 bilyong “collection surplus” na naitala noong nakaraang taon.

“We have intercepted and seized over 300 smuggled shipments over the past three years and resolved 327 seizure cases,” ani Mendoza.

Ipinagmalaki rin ni Mendoza ang nasungkit na ISO 900:2015 Certification ng dalawang subports (Dumaguete at Mactan) para sa taong 2020 at 2021.

“Last June, the District Port passed the final external audit for the same Certification, making the Port of Cebu the first Customs collection district in the country to have its main port and all subports ISO-certified,” pahabol pa ni Mendoza.
