PORMAL nang itinalaga kahapon bilang bagong hepe ng Quezon City Police District (QCPD) si Police Brigadier General Remus Balignasa Medina kapalit ni Brigadier General Antonio Yarra.
Sa  isang seremonya sa Camp General Tomas Karingal sa Sikatuna Village, Quezon City, pinangasiwaan mismo ni National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Vicente Danao ang paglilipat ng responsibilidad bilang hepe ng pulisya para sa pinakamalaking lungsod sa Metro Manila ang pwestong iniwan ni Yarra kay Medina.

Bago pa man itinalagang QCPD Director, nagsilbing si Medina bilang hepe ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG). Kabilang rin si Medina sa Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Tagapaglunsad Class of 1993.

Itinalaga naman si Yarra, na galing sa Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Sambisig Class of 1991, ay hinirang bilang bagong regional director ng Calabarzon PNP na sumasakop sa mga lalawigan ng Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal at Quezon.

Bukod sa PDEA, nanungkulan na rin sa iba pang sensitibong pwesto si Medina — Senior Executive Assistant sa Office of the PNP Director-General; hepe ng District Directorial Staff ng Eastern Police District; hepe ng Regional Intelligence Division ng NCRPO, Police Regional Office – 2 at PRO 7; hepe ng Regional Comptrollership Division ng PRO 7; hepe ng District Intelligence Division ng EPD; at hepe ng Logistics Management Division ng Special Action Force.

Sa isang mensahe, tiniyak  ni Medina ang pagpapatuloy ng programa ng kanyang pinalitan sa hangaring mapanatili ang tinawag niyang “momentum of gains” ng nasabing distrito.

“On this new and greater responsibility bestowed on me, I believe that continuity is a very important factor to sustain and maintain the momentum of our gains whether in the administrative or operational aspect of governance. I have therefore nothing else to commit but to continue the plans and programs of my predecessor and to help fulfil and achieve the genuine change for our constituents- especially the people of Quezon City,” pahayag ng bagong QCPD chief.
