TINIYAK ng pamunuan ang Armed Forces of the Philippines na hahayaan nilang humarap sa impeachment court si Col. Raymund Dante Lachica, ang dating chief security ni Vice President Sara Duterte na pangunahing personalidad sa disbursement ng P500 million confidential fund ng OVP partikular sa paggastos umano ng P125 million intelligence fund sa loob lamang ng 11 araw.
Ayon kay AFP Spokesperson, Col Francel Margareth Padilla, nakahanda ang hukbong sandatahan na makipagtulungan at iharap si Col. Lachica sa nagaganap na impeachment trial sa Senado.
Sinabi pa ni Col Padilla, ito ang pangunahing dahilan kaya inilagay nila sa attached un-assigned status sa headquarters ng Philippine Army ang nasabing opisyal. “So that in the event that he is called upon, the Armed Forces of the Philippines shows that we are really supporting and of course cooperating dito sa pag-conduct po ng investigation accordingly,” sabi pa ni Padilla.
Nabatid na inilagay sa floating status si Lachica simula pa noong October 4, 2025. Siya ay nasa attached unassigned status sa headquarters ng Phil Army.
Kaugnay nito bilang pagrespeto sa hurisdiksyon ng Ombudsman, sa umiiral na due process at pagdinig sa Senado ay inirerekomenda ng AFP na tapusin na ang ginagawang nilang inquiry kaugnay sa paggastos ng confidential fund ni VP Sara Duterte na pinangasiwaan umano ni Lachica.
“… nirecommend natin ito for termination and conclusion to avoid itong duplication of functions. Particularly since itong Office of the Ombudsman has already taken yung cognizance of the complaints involving the concerned individual, dagdag pa ni Padilla.
Tiniyak naman ni Col. Xerxes Trinidad, AFP Public Information Office chief na ; “Kapagka po, meron pong proper summons, we will abide po, subpoena opo, subpoena.”
Ayon kay Col Trinidad, “I think we have to receive the subpoena first. I think we at the armed forces of the Philippines would always respect the rule of law and all particular processes or democratic processes that are being conducted. And one such is the cognizance of this particular court to subpoena particular persons.
