NILINAW ngayon ng Department of Justice (DoJ) na hindi maaaring arestuhin ng interpol si dating Presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque na ngayon ay nananatili sa The Netherlands.

Magugunitang si Roque ay tumakbo sa nasabing bansa makaraan siyang isyuhan ng warrant of arrest ng Angeles, Pampanga Regional Trial Court, branch 118 kaugnay sa human trafficking dahil sa operasyon ng POGO o scam hub sa Porac, Pampanga.

Ipinaliwanag ni DoJ Chief State Counsel, Dennis Arvin Chan na hindi maaaring arestuhin duon si Atty. Roque dahil may nakabinbin itong Petition for Asylum.

Dito aniya sa Pilipinas, ang ganitong senaryo ay kailangan munang matapos ang refugee application.

“Because Dito sa Pilipinas when we received information na may warrant of arrest we just informed the concerned authorities that there is a pending asylum application that new have to resolve with finality first before we can move forward with that warrant of arrest,” giit pa ni Chan.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Justice Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano na kung patuloy na magtatago si Atty Roque ay ilalagay muna ng hukuman sa archive ang warrant pero buhay pa rin ang kaso.

Dagdag pa ni Asec Clavano na kung hindi magsusumite ng counter affidavit si Roque sa Pilipinas ay iri-resolve ng mga prosecutor ang kaso at ibabatay ito sa nakahaing reklamo.
