ISINISI ng National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) sa Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) ang kawalan ng halal food para sa mga delegadong kalahok sa 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Binalewala umano ng PHISGOC ang panawagan nila noong Setyembre pa hinggil sa paghahanda ng halal food para sa Muslim athletes at guests.

“We waited for some communications. Wala na po eh. So we assumed na they can do it. Mahirap kasi ‘yung singit kami nang singit and they don’t find us important,” sabi ni NCMF Executive Director Tahir Lidasan.

Kamakalawa ay iniulat sa news program na 24 Oras na isang Muslim media officer ng Indonesian Men’s Football Team ang nadismaya sa 30th SEA Games organizers dahil sa kabiguan na alamin kung ano ang pagkakaiba ng halal at non-halal food.

Ito ang dahilan kaya’t aksidenteng nakakain ang Indonesian na si Gatot Widardo ng pork, na bawal sa dietary rules nila bilang Muslim.

“Until now, they [have] not improved yet. So we hope [in] the next days they can improve on this and separate the halal food and the non-halal food,” himutok ni Widardo.

Ngunit maging non-Muslim teams ay nakaranas din ng problema sa pagkain at inumin.

Ayon sa Thailand National Football Team, kailangan nilang bumili ng sarili nilang tubig dahil kulang ang ibinibigay ng organizers.

“Water is not enough, the food, amenities… but we tried to organize it by ourselves,” ani Thailand National Football Team Assistant Coach Sawin Jaraspetcharanan.

Kahapon ay ipinahayag ng PHISGOC na naplantsa na ang mga aberya sa SEA Games hosting ng bansa matapos ang chef de mission meeting noong Lunes.

“We tackled all the issues and complaints and requests of the chefs de mission. We have solved everything,” ani PHISGOC chief operating officer Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara sa isang press conference sa World Trade Center kung saan naroon ang sub press center.

Nakiusap naman si Suzara na magtulungan ang lahat sa halip na magbatuhan ng puna.

“Let’s help each other. I’m appealing to all of you to give a positive note on what we have done … We are here to support our athletes, our government, the organizing committee, PSC, POC, tulungan natin para ganahan sila manalo,” aniya.

“We are targeting the overall (championship) for this SEA Games. Let’s work together,” pagtatapos ni Suzara.
