Sa pamumuno ni Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Vice Chairperson at General Manager Royina Marzan Garma, pormal na iginawad itong Martes, Disyembre 28, sa limang ahensya ng pamahalaan ang P67,074,210.96 bilang bahagi ng Mandatory Contributions.
Ang kabuang halagang nabanggit ay hinati sa limang benepisyaryo: Philippine National Police (PNP), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
Bagama’t hindi nakadalo si Garma, naging matagumpay ang programa na ginanap sa PCSO Conservatory Building sa Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
Pinangunahan ang naturang paggawad nina Assistant General Manager for Charity Sector Ms. Julieta F. Aseo at Assistant General Manager for Branch Operations Sector Atty. Lauro A. Patiag.
Ganap ang kasiyahan ng limang ahensya sa pagtanggap ng: P25,877,837.88 na tinanggap ng PNP representative na si Assistant Chief Finance Officer Bethzaida Abalos; P24,672,535.90 na tinanggap ng CHED representative na si Supervising Admin Officer, Diana Aguilar; P9,608,217.20 na tinanggap ng DDB representative na si USec. Earl Saavedra; P6,764,003.19 na tinanggap ng NBI representative na si Supervising Admin Officer Lilibeth Barretto; at P151,616.79 na tinanggap ng PSC representative.
Inihayag din ng PCSO na ang NBI ay may karagdagag P3 milyon maliban sa nabanggit.

Ang perang ibinigay ay gagamiting pondo para sa medical assistance at sa iba pang pangangailangan ng nasabing mga ahensya ng pamahalaan.
Katunayan, nagbigay testimonya at pasasalamat si USec. Earl Saavedra, Executive Director ng DDB kaugnay sa pagtulong na ito ng PCSO.
“When the Duterte administration took office, isa sa mga priority program na talagang pinagtuunan ng atensyon ay ang ating anti-drug campaign. Aside from the DND, the PCSO really took to heart its commitment to help in our drug abuse prevention and control initiatives. Tinitignan po namin ang record, since 2016 hanggang 2021 ay wala pong palya ang PCSO sa pagbibigay ng mandatory contributions nito as stated in the comprehensive dangerous drug act of 2002,” ani Saavedra.
“In the past years before 2016, nagkakaroon tayo ng challenges. In fact, itong mga mandatory contributions na ibinibigay sa amin hindi lamang ng PCSO but on the part of other agencies na mayroong ganitong responsibilidad, ginagamit po iyan para sa maintenance, establishment and operations of drug abuse and treatment rehabilitation facilities nationwide. Ngayon po sa panahon ng current administration, we were able to set up 77 drug abuse treatment and rehabilitation centers at the provincial level. Ang minamando po ng batas dapat ay one per province and there are 81 provinces, so sana ay makumpleto. We are on our way in reaching the completion of the particular number prescribed by law na mayroong treatment and rehabilitation facilities sa provincial level because of the support of the agencies such as the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office,” dagdag pa ni Saavedra.
Paghihikayat ng PCSO sa publiko, upang magpatuloy ang ganitong tradisyong pagtulong ay tangkilikin ang STL (Small Town Lottery), lotto, Keno at Scratch-it.
Ang proyektong ito ay regular na ipinatutupad ng PCSO bilang pagmamalasakit sa kapwa Pilipino at sa iba’t ibang partner institutions. (Ann Esternon)
