$250-M AYUDANG PANGKALUSUGAN PLANONG IBIGAY NG TRUMP ADMIN SA PILIPINAS

INIHAYAG ng U.S. government ang pagkakaloob ng panibagong foreign assistance sa Pilipinas na nagkakahalaga ng P13.8 billion ($250 million) bilang ayudang pangkalusugan para mapalakas ang health systems, pagandahin ang disease detection and response capabilities, at palawakin ang maternal and child health services sa bansa.

Sa impormasyong ibinahagi ng U.S. Embassy in Manila, balak ng Trump administration, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa U.S. Congress, na maglaan ng $250 million para sa bagong health sectors assistance sa Pilipinas para matugunan ang malalang hamon sa pampublikong kalusugan.

“Through this assistance, our governments will work together on tuberculosis and maternal health while investing in preparedness, detection, and response capabilities to reduce the threat of emerging diseases and protect our homelands,” ayon sa inilabas na pahayag ni U.S. Secretary of State Marc Rubio.

Paliwanag pa ni Sec. Rubio, “This programming builds on the $63 million in assistance announced during President Marcos’s July official visit to Washington, which was the first announcement of new assistance for any country following President Trump’s review and realignment of foreign assistance.

Sabi pa ng kalihim, ang panibagong pahayag ng Trump administration ay pagpapakita ng matibay na ugnayan sa pagitan ng United States at ng Pilipinas. “It also demonstrates the efficient, time-limited, and narrowly targeted approach of this new era of America First foreign assistance.”
