NANAWAGAN ang EcoWaste Coalition sa mga negosyante na huwag nang ibenta ang 37 klase ng spray paints sa publiko makaraang ipagbawal na ito ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) dahil sa nakalalasong kemikal na taglay ng mga ito.

“We appeal to the country’s retail industry to desist from selling aerosol or spray paints containing lead additives in violation of the Chemical Control Order banning lead in the manufacture of paints,” pahayag ni Thony Dizon, chemical safety campaigner ng EcoWaste.

Nakasaad sa FDA Advisory No. 2020 – 1585 na “laboratory test results of 37 spray paint products showed that these products have exceeded the maximum limit of 90 parts per million (ppm).”

Kaya, inihayag ni FDA Director General Rolando Enrique Domingo na “All concerned establishments are sternly warned and hereby directed to stop the distribution and sale of aforementioned products that pose unwarranted risks to health.”
