TINIYAK ni Senate Committee on Finance Chairperson Sonny Angara na hindi magiging hadlang ang kanilanng hybrid hearings para mabusising maigi ang bawat detalye ng proposed P4.506 trillion 2021 national budget.
“Hindi rin po hadlang ang online hearings sa masusi at masinsinan na pagrerepaso ng mga panukalang budget ng mga ahensya,” saad ni Angara.
Sinabi ni Angara na handa ang lahat ng miyembro ng Senado na tiyaking magiging epektibo ang budget sa pakikipaglaban sa COVID-19 pandemic.
Una nang isinumite ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) sa Kongreso ang proposed P4.506-trillion national budget na 9.9 percent na mataas kumpara sa 2020 budget.
“We will be thorough in our review for that has always been the Senate way. We will not sacrifice scrutiny for speed,” saad ni Angara.
“And I say this with confidence that we will meet the deadline of a well-crafted budget ready for the President’s signature long before the year ends,” dagdag nito.
Binigyang-diin ni Angara na malaki ang epekto ng COVID 19 crisis sa pagdedesisyon sa alokasyon ng pambansang budget.
“It will dictate the thrust and content of the 2021 budget. It is through this prism that we will view the budget,” diin nito.
“In a nutshell, the challenge is to pass a budget that will help the sick, the health system, and the economy recover,” giit pa ng senador. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
