“THIS is an outright LIE.”
Mariing itinanggi ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang kumakalat na alegasyong may planong kudeta na kinasasangkutan umano ng CIA, AFP, at Department of National Defense (DND).
Giit ng AFP, malinaw na dangerous disinformation ang ikinakalat sa social media—isang deliberate attempt para lasunin ang isipan ng publiko, pahinain ang chain of command, at maghasik ng pagkakawatak-watak sa pagitan ng Commander-in-Chief at ng Sandatahang Lakas.
“Let there be no doubt: the AFP remains loyal to the Constitution and will follow the chain of command. It is fully committed to defending the Republic—not betraying it,” ayon sa opisyal na pahayag.
Dagdag pa ng AFP, ang mga nagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon ay “traitors working to undermine peace, stability, and the integrity of our democratic institutions.”
Kasabay nito, tahasang pinabulaanan ng DND ang isyu ng kudeta na sinasabing magpapalit kay Pangulong Marcos at gagawing caretaker si Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, habang itatalaga naman bilang Defense chief si AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner.
Ayon sa DND, “The latest lie of a destabilization/coup plot is outrightly preposterous and achieves nothing other than create confusion and pander to the adversarial narratives against the national government.”
Dagdag pa ng kagawaran: “At this time when our focus and resources must be devoted to improving the lives of our people, addressing threats to our very sovereignty, and advancing our national interests, those spreading such rumors must be asked — who benefits and who suffers?”
