HINILING ni Senador Risa Hontiveros sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) na magpadala ng sasakyan para sa mga health worker mula at patungo sa kanilangpinapasukang pagamutan o health facilities.

Sa pahayag, sinabi ni Hontiveros na walang masakyan ang mga health worker dahil sinuspinde ng pamahalaan ang lahat ng uri ng mass transporation sa buong Kamaynilaan. “It is essential that vehicles are provided to ferry our health workers from their localities to their respective health facilities. Hindi pwedeng ma-paralyze angserbisyo ng ating mga health facilities just because our health workers are unable to report to work because of the lack of transportation options,” ayon kay Hontiveros sa pahayag nitong Martes.

Hinikayat ni Hontiveros ang DOTr na makipag-ugnayan sa pribadong kumpanya na makakuha ng mas maraming sasakyan sa lansangan upang pagsilbihan ang mga health worker.

“We need buses, coasters, and other spacious vehicles that can accommodate the most number of health workers within the frame of social distancing,” ayon pa kay Hontiveros.

“This should be free service to all our unsung heroes working at the frontlines in our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” aniya.

Nauna nang ipinanawagan ni Hontiveros na bigyan ng hazard pay ang lahat ng health workers at iba pang frontline workers na inatasang magtrabaho.

Iminungkahi rin ng senador na italaga ang mga major point sa mga lungsod at munisipalidad bilang point-to-point or P2P Stations para sa mga sasakyan na ito.

“Hindi na kayang problemahin ng mga ospital at health facilities ang mobility ng kanilang mga health workers, sa dami na ring nakaasa sa kanila,” paliwanag ni Hontiveros. “The government needs to step in and make sure that our health workers are not stranded outside because of the suspension of public transportation,” giit niya.
