INATASAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) na manatiling matatag sa pagtugon sa insurhensya kasabay ng pagkilala nito sa kontribusyon sa pagsusulong ng peace and development ng bansa.

Sa kanyang mensahe sa 6th anniversary ng NTF-ELCAC sa Camp Aguinaldo sa Quezon City, pinuri ni Marcos ang task force sa pagsisikap nitong supilin ang ugat ng insurhensya at pagpapasigla sa conflict-affected communities.

“The path to lasting peace is fraught with myriad challenges. Emerging threats to national security demand both caution and innovation. We must continue to ensure that our programs remain relevant and responsive to the needs of our communities,” ayon sa mensahe ni Marcos na binasa ni Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr.

“Beyond these efforts, we must emphasize stakeholder engagement and improve our partnership with other sectors of society.”

Ikinagalak ni USEC Ernesto Torres Jr. ang ginawang pagkilala ni Pangulong Marcos sa tagumpay ng NTF-ELCAC sa pag-aalok ng ikalawang pagkakataon sa mga dating rebelde na makapagbagong buhay.

Binanggit din ni PBBM ang mga programa ng task force tulad ng Barangay Development Program, Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program at ang gumugulong na amnesty program, na tumulong na maiangat ang socio-economic conditions ng vulnerable communities.

“As you gather today, may this anniversary inspire us to press forward with even greater resolve. Together, let us continue to invigorate a Bagong Pilipinas — one marked by peace and progress in our communities across the country,” ayon sa Pangulo.

Itinatag ang NTF-ELCAC sa pamamagitan ng Executive Order 70 na nilagdaan ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo R. Duterte noong December 2018, nagtatag sa whole-of-nation approach ng bansa sa pagresolba sa communist insurgency. (JESSE KABEL RUIZ)
