NAPATAY ang kilabot umanong sub-leader ng Dawlah Islamiyah Local Terrorist group sa inilunsad na joint law enforcement operation ng PNP at Philippine Army troops sa Guimba, Marawi City, Lanao del kaninang madaling araw.
Kinilala ang napatay na terorista na si Usop Nasif, alyas Abu Asraf, kanang kamay ni Abu Zacaria, ang kasalukuyang pinuno ng Dawlah Islamiyah terrorist sa Lanao del Sur.
Si Nasif ay nagawa pang maitakbo sa Amai Pakpak Medical Center matapos ang may 30 minutong sagupaan na nagsimula bandang alas-3:45 ng madaling araw subalit idineklara itong dead-on-arrival ng attending physician.
May pitong pulis at sundalo rin ang nasugatan sa engkuwentro bukod pa sa asawa ni Nasif na dinala rin sa pagamutan.
Ayon kay Brig. Gen. Jose Maria Cuerpo II, 103rd Infantry Brigade Commander, ang napatay na local terrorist ay pangunahing suspek sa pagpatay sa tatlong PNP at tatlong Army personnel ngayong taon.
“The hideout was pointed out by Guimba residents fearing that he will put to danger their lives and properties,” ani Brig. Gen. Cuerpo.
“Troops are on pursuit against the cohorts of Nasif and we encourage the locals to report their presence so that we could stop their terrorist activities in the province,” dagdag pa ng opisyal.
Pinapurihan naman ni Maj. Gen. Gene Ponio, commander ng 1st Infantry Division, ang mga tauhan ng PNP at Philippine Army sa pagkaka-neyutralisa sa terrorist sub-leader.
“We vowed to remain relentless against these terrorist group to sustain the peace and progress that we have attained in our area of responsibility,” sabi pa ni Maj. Gen. Ponio. (JESSE KABEL)
