ITINALAGA ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. si James Arandila Layug, dating opisyal ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), bilang Assistant Secretary ng Department of Agriculture (DA).

Ang appointment paper ni Layug ay ipinalabas ng Malakanyang, Huwebes ng gabi.

Kinumpirma naman ni Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles ang appointment ni Layug.

“Mr. James Layug, formerly with the DICT is named Assistant Secretary of the Department of Agriculture,” ayon kay Cruz-Angeles.

Si Layug ay pinuno ng Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center ng DICT, isang ahensya na inatasan na pangunahan ang pagsisikap ng gobyerno na labanan ang cybercrimes, lalo na iyong mga nambibiktima ng mga kabataan.

Naging director din si Layug ng Office of the Assistant Secretary for Installations and Self-Reliant Defense Posture ng Department of National Defense (DND).

Bago pa napasok sa DND, si Layug ay isang ranking official ng Bureau of Customs.

Si Layug, dating miyembro ng Magdalo member, ay pangulo ng Reform Party, na kinabibilangan ng reformist soldiers.

Siya ay miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy Class 1995.

Papalitan naman ni Layug si Federico Laciste Jr.

Samantala, itinalaga naman ni Pangulong Marcos sina Geraldine Marie Berberabe-Martinez at Gideon De Villa Mortel bilang mga miyembro ng Governance Commission for Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs).

Papalitan ni Berberabe-Martinez si Michael Cloribel habang papalitan naman ni Mortel si Marites Doral.

Si Berberabe-Martinez ay naging miyembro ng Government Service Insurance System Board of Trustees.

Si Mortel, sa kabilang dako ay isang abogado, lecturer sa Development Academy of the Philippines. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
