NANAWAGAN si Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez ng mabilis at malalimang imbestigasyon kaugnay ng madugong pamamaril sa loob ng San Jose National High School sa Barangay San Jose, Tacloban City.

Kasabay nito, nagpaabot ng pakikiramay at agarang tulong ang lider ng Kamara sa mga pamilya ng mga biktima matapos masawi ang tatlong katao at masugatan ang pito sa insidente.

“I have directed my office to coordinate with local authorities and relevant government agencies to determine what assistance can immediately be provided to the affected families,” pahayag ni Romualdez.

“At the same time, I call on law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough and swift investigation so that all those responsible are held fully accountable under the law,” dagdag pa niya.

Nanawagan din si Romualdez ng mas malalim na pagninilay upang maiwasan ang pag-ulit ng mga kahalintulad na insidente sa mga paaralan.

“As we mourn, we must also reflect on what more can be done to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. We owe it to our children, our teachers, and every Filipino family to make our schools places where young people can learn without fear,” aniya.

Ayon sa ulat, dakong alas-9:00 ng umaga nang maganap ang pamamaril sa loob ng paaralan.

Sa ulat ng Police Regional Office-8 sa pamumuno ni PBGen. Jason Capoy, nasa kustodiya na ng mga awtoridad ang dalawang menor de edad na itinuturing na Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) na itinuturong nasa likod ng krimen.

Agad na naisugod sa ospital ang mga sugatan habang mabilis na nagsagawa ng hot pursuit operation ang pulisya na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto ng dalawang suspek.

Alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 9344 o Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, hindi isinapubliko ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga menor de edad na suspek na nakatakdang i-turn over sa City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

Pinuri naman ni Capoy ang mabilis na aksyon ng kanyang mga tauhan habang patuloy na inaalam ang motibo sa likod ng insidente.

“Our personnel acted swiftly to place the CICL involved under custody while strictly observing the provisions of Republic Act No. 9344 and ensuring the protection of their rights and welfare,” ani Capoy.

Samantala, agad ding nagpakilos si Romualdez ng tulong pinansyal at iba pang suporta para sa mga pamilya ng mga biktima.

“Our priority is to ensure that the victims receive the medical care they need and that their families do not have to worry about the financial burden during this difficult time,” aniya.

Bukod sa hospital bills, tiniyak din ni Romualdez na sasagutin ng kanyang tanggapan ang lahat ng gastusin sa libing ng tatlong nasawi.

“No family should have to carry this burden alone. We want the families to focus on grieving and supporting one another while we take care of whatever assistance we can provide,” dagdag pa niya.

Nakipag-ugnayan na rin ang kanyang tanggapan sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) para sa agarang psychosocial intervention at counseling services para sa mga nakasaksi at naapektuhan ng insidente.
