TRUST GOD

PROVERBS 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Nowadays, we can’t deny that many are striving to earn money, some are really trying hard to acquire fame and gain honor, as well as attaining great education.

Nothing wrong with them; however, if we are earning money by crook or by hook to the extent that we are stepping on people’s dignity and rights. Therefore, that is not moral and not right to do it. For the reason that if they amassed great wealth, they don’t need anybody; only relying and defending the wealth they possessed. It is then becoming their fortress.

Others are trusting to their fame, and it becomes their shield. For them they have a strong tower and they don’t need anybody just like people who have a lot of money.

How about people covering themselves to their honor that they had received given to them by the people? Whether they bought or earned it, just like many politicians and government officials who acquired it through buying the position that they had now. Even having a great education is also the source of their trust.

Intelligent people or those with higher education don’t need any people, for them, they are the most intelligent creatures. So, precisely they will rely on their intelligence. Honor and education become their armor. With this power and influence makes them invincible, and they don’t need anybody just the same as people who had great wealth and fame. Let us also include trust in their religion but not a relationship to our Savior. trust in their religion but not a relationship to our Savior. Religion could definitely fail us. It will not save us and it is not the mighty stronghold, only God.

In many instances, people are really finding where they can lean on. People are looking for whom they can trust, that will provide their needs and people who will comfort them. They develop in their lives just seeking others assistance all the time. Again, nothing wrong in doing so by seeking help from others. Interdependence is neither wrong either. But if we are only relying on our wealth, fame, honor, education, religion and to other people; herein, we have a big problem, for we developed shortsightedness.

All these will fail us. Points of clarification, I don’t disregard wealth, fame, honor and education. God can give all of these, He gave these to His believers like; Joseph, Abraham, Solomon, David etc.

What I’m saying is if we forget looking above that there is One, who are most capable, potent and very reliable that would never fail us. For wealth, fame, honor, education, religion, and people will fail us and will forsake us; but not the sources of everything, the Lord our God, the creator of heaven and earth; the wisdom giver, the protector, and the great provider.

The only thing we should do is to trust Him with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding and in all ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct our paths (Prov. 3:5). God knows the best for our lives, just trust Him. “Commit to the Lord whatever we do and our plan will succeed.” (giv777@myyahoo.com)
